Artist Spotlight - Henéle Wright

Artist/Producer Henele Wright's passion for all things music reaches way back. So far back in fact he recalls a deal he had to make as a child to get his first set of drums. "I had to take piano lessons first", says Henele of his parents' "compromise". "But, without that, I might JUST be another artist looking for beats".

Fast forward to the present day. Being just another "rap dude" looking for beats is far from where Henele finds himself. The artist, whose female fans call "Mr.(W)Right" and his contemporaries call "A Problem", is a seasoned; producer, (Ghost)writer, director and CEO of Illwind Entertainment, his Recording Label.

Henele attempts to walk that fine line of being commercially viable and lyrically deadly all the while not falling into the stereotype of today's "rapper" image. Straight up...a lot of Hip-Hop fans are sick and tired – tired of “candy-coated” songs with nursery rhyme-inspired hooks and redundant talk about diamonds, cars, and women.

Rap’s diverse styles have their place within the genre, but some fans are calling for music with more meaningful content that speaks to the triumphs and struggles of everyday people.
