Video: Bishop Eddie Long’s Accuser Jamal Parris Speaks

Jamal Parris, one of the plaintiffs in the Eddie Long lawsuit, spoke on camera for the first time since the allegation surfaced. Parris is one of Eddie Long’s former ’spiritual sons’ who have come forward to tell a tale of sexual abuse, manipulation, fraud and abuse of power. If the allegations are proved true, the Bishop Eddie Long scandal may prove to be the greatest scandal in the Christian church for generations to come. Many Christian leaders are speaking out while others are just asking for people to pray about the situation. Carlton Pearson and Ted Haggard have appeared on CNN, T.D. Jakes led his congregation to pray for Eddie Long.


Four men have brought charges against Bishop Eddie Long in a civil lawsuit. The charges are not criminal because the men say they were over the legal age when sexual conduct began. The men who have filed civil lawsuits against Eddie Long include: Anthony Flagg, Maurice Robinson, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande. The men’s attorney, B.J. Bernstein said she believes more men are involved but has not announced any new lawsuits will be filed.

Cell phone photos were released by B.J. Bernstein last week that showed Bishop Eddie Long wearing a muscle shirt and black spandex workout attire.  


The photos were released as proof that Eddie Long was engaging in behaviors that were inappropriate. 


Bernstein spoke with Roland Martin from CNN and the Tom Joyner Morning Show and discussed how the charges came to be. She also discussed the fact that she notified federal authorities regarding the men’s claims. 


At this point, Eddie Long is not facing criminal charges. Long was supposed to appear on the Tom Joyner Morning Show last week, and many expected a press conference. He didn’t give one.  Instead, Bishop Long delivered a sermon and said he would not step down from ministry regarding the scandal and lawsuit.


It was announced several days ago that disgraced pastor and pedophile, Earl Paulk was an early mentor of Eddie Long’s. The news is ironic and comes with great trouble as many worry that the allegations against Eddie Long are true.
