Lupe Fans Set To Protest Record Label

On October 15th, Lupe Fiasco fans plan to rally outside of Atlantic Records demanding the release of his long-delayed album, Lasers. In July, fans organized a petition for the distribution of the project to no avail. Protesters are asked to bring picket signs and sport the Lasers uniform.

The  event has picked up the moniker 'Fiasco Friday', as Lupe himself tweeted, "#FiascoFriday huh?!?...well if y'all there...I guess I gotta be there too! Ha! Leggo!"

Started on the KanyeLive forums on September 19, the rally is a reflection of the anger and disappoint from Lupe Fiasco fans worldwide about Atlantic's handling of Lasers.

The following is an excerpt from the group's page;

Our goal: Getting enough members/support to hold multiple demonstrations outside all of Atlantic's HQs across the nation. We need to set a day and a time and spread the word to achieve the level of participation needed to send a strong message to Atlantic Music Group. Join us here on this group to brainstorm ideas about the LASERS Rally, as well as talk about Lupe Fiasco's newest news and music.
(more info/protest developments will be announced here)
I must admit I am very intrigued as to what outcome this may bring about. Atlantic Records aknowledged the petition but that's about it. Now Lupe's fans are taking it to the next level. I don't quite recall any such movement to get an artist's album released in Hip-Hop before. I will be watching on Fiasco Friday with interest.
