Dad Accused of Murder: 'I Didn't Hurt My Babies'

As a teary-eyed Steven Nicholson walked into an Allen Park courtroom Friday, he turned to his family and said he was sorry.

Nicholson shook his head and sobbed even more as 24th District Judge John Courtright charged him with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder and two counts of first-degree child abuse in the scalding and drowning deaths of Nicholson's 15-month-old daughter Ella Stafford, and his son, 13-month-old Jonathon Sanderlin.

An Allen Park police officer told the court they received a call from Nicholson at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday that said he believed his toddlers were gone.

When police arrived at Apartment 2 at the Valley Springs Apartments, they said Nicholson, 27, was sitting on the floor with the children lying in front of him. Jonathon had burns on his face and Ella, who also had burns to her body, was pale with purple lips.

Should Teachers 'Friend' Students?

Facebook used to be a site just for college kids. However, it wasn't long before the social network opened up membership to everyone.

Now people are using it to spy on their exes, kids are dealing with their parents commenting on their walls, and bosses are monitoring what employees are doing on days they're not at work.

Apparently teachers in the New York district are using it to talk to their students and it's causing problems with the Department of Education.

Man Accused Of Killing Cop In Parking Dispute

A police spokesman in Baltimore, Maryland says a 25-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder for the death of an off-duty detective by striking him in the head during a dispute over a parking space, authorities said Sunday.

Sian James, 25, is suspected in the death of Brian Stevenson, an 18-year police veteran, who was out celebrating his 38th birthday with a friend late Saturday night when an argument ensued over a parking spot outside a restaurant, police said.

According to witnesses, James picked up a piece of concrete and threw it at Stevenson, hitting him in the head.

The attack occurred around 10 p.m. Stevenson was rushed to Johns Hopkins hospital, where he died.
Police say James fled the scene and was apprehended later at a nearby night club.

Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri are believed to be hiding close to each other in houses in northwest Pakistan, but are not together, a senior NATO official said.

"Nobody in al Qaeda is living in a cave," said the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the intelligence matters involved.

Rather, al Qaeda's top leadership is believed to be living in relative comfort, protected by locals and some members of the Pakistani intelligence services, the official said.
